Hair does not fall out, it is renewed

Yes that's how it is. According to Alicia Santamaria, collaborator of the UOC's Master's Degree in Nutrition and Health, "hair loss is a process that has to do with natural renewal."
Likewise, the hair we lose grows back after 3 or 4 months, without the need to resort to vitamins to prevent hair loss. According to the AEDV (Spanish Academy of Dermatology and Venerology), there is always 12-15% of hair in the replacement phase.
Therefore, it would only be abnormal hair loss if there is more than 100 hair loss per day.
Causes of more hair loss:
- Seasons : autumn is usually a time of more hair loss because it coincides with the telogen phase (that phase in which the hair grows and the new growth cycle is reactivated) and we are also coming from summer (a time when the hair deteriorates further due to the sun, sea water and chlorine).
- Hereditary factors : hormonal changes, diseases, medications or stress.
- Unbalanced diets : it may make the fall more intense. It is usually a lack of fruit and vegetable intake, vitamins (group B, A and C), minerals (such as zinc, iron or magnesium) and not drinking enough water.
Apart from this, what else can you do to avoid falling?
- Wash your hair less.
- Use shampoos with neutral pH.
- Avoid frequent use of dryers, straighteners and hair dyes, as they weaken it and promote breakage.
