Vitamins for your hair

Essential vitamins to have radiant hair

Discover the vitamins necessary to show off long, healthy hair.

Our hair, like every living organism, needs certain foods and nutrients to grow healthy and strong.

In nature we can find different micronutrients present in green leaves, nuts, fruits, seeds or algae, for example, which interact with the body, providing it with life through specific molecules.

As our soils are overexploited and a large part of the fruits and vegetables in supermarkets contain herbicides and pesticides, the foods we eat usually contain very low doses of micronutrients. In these cases, it is advisable to eat organic foods.

On the other hand, there are also vitamin tablets. If you choose this second option, it is very important that you inform yourself about the origin, manufacturing method and ingredients of the capsule. Ideally, you should use a pure vitamin supplement at specific times.

Today we want to share with you the vitamins that can protect, strengthen, hydrate and heal your hair from the inside out and from the outside in .

What are vitamins?

Vitamins are a group of substances necessary for cellular functioning, growth and proper development of the body. There are 13 essential vitamins.

They are chemical substances that cannot be synthesized by the body, and that are present in small quantities in food, being essential for life and the daily activities of our routine.

They are classified as: A, B1, B2, B3, B5, B6, B12, C, D, E, Folic acid, Biotin and K.

Within this list they are divided into water-soluble and fat-soluble.

Water-soluble vitamins are soluble in water elements. This means that they are easily eliminated through urine. In this category we find vitamins C and B1, B2, B3, B6 and B12. Generally, most people are able to consume sufficient amounts of water-soluble vitamins simply by eating a balanced diet (except vegetarians and vegans, who should supplement with vitamin B12 or take nutritional yeast daily).

Fat-soluble vitamins, as their name suggests, dissolve in fat. These are stored in fatty tissues of the body such as the liver or adipose tissue, which is why they can generate toxicity problems. Furthermore, its elimination is more difficult, so special care must be taken not to exceed its consumption. Here we find vitamins A, D, E and F.

What type of vitamins does our hair need?

Vitamins can be acquired through different foods and their correct absorption has a direct impact on the hair.

Therefore, before we start stuffing ourselves with thousands of foods or vitamin supplements, we have to examine our liver: there is no point in eating very healthy and taking supplements if our liver is not capable of metabolizing nutrients correctly.

Obviously, a vegetable and alkaline diet promotes good absorption of nutrients by the body: even so, examining it from time to time, especially if we suffer from some type of discomfort, does not hurt.

Our hair needs a certain type of vitamins to grow healthy and strong:

- vitamin A, present in mangoes, carrots, tomatoes...

- vitamin B, present in kale, tempeh, brewer's yeast...

- vitamin C, present in peppers, parsley, oranges...

- vitamin E, present in Brazil nuts, almonds, spinach,

broccoli…

- vitamin D, through daily but moderate exposure to the sun.

Lack of vitamin B8, for example, can cause baldness or hair loss. Lack of vitamin B12 can cause more hair loss, dryness and/or premature appearance of gray hair...

On the other hand, vitamin B3 stimulates hair growth and increases capillary circulation, while vitamin B6 produces melanin, giving it color and tone.

A balanced diet, abundant in the foods mentioned above, quality proteins, healthy fats, iron, calcium and zinc, can prevent many hair problems and reverse them. But nourishing the hair from the inside is not enough: it is also important to do so from the outside.

Our hair products are 100% natural and organic, they are made from essential oils and contain very nutritious, protective, antioxidant and moisturizing properties. Clean your hair with nourishing products!
